Visit and Do

Basically Mahabaleshwar is popular for sightseeing as lots of scenic places are here to see. You can get lots of beautiful green peaks, cascading waterfalls, calm and clear lakes, springs and viewpoints. Farms of strawberries and raspberries are another attraction among visitors during May and June.Start from Arthur’s seat which is 1470 meters high. You can view beautiful layered rocks, canyon and cliffs. The panoramic view of Savitri valley made this place queen of all points. Another is Sunset point or Bombay point which is very famous for Sunset view. This place is also good for picnic. Other vantage points are Wilson point or sunrise point, Babbington point, Carnac point, Elephant’s head point, Falkland point, Hunter point, Helen’s point and Kate’s point. Tiger’s spring near Arthur seat is all good to see. Lingmala falls, Venna Lake, Chinaman’s fall and Dhobi waterfalls are other sightseeing.For a change you can go for some ancient monuments like Morarji castle which had built during British raj and still has same beauty, Pratapgarh fort which is proud witness of victory of great king and Maratha Emperor Chatrapati Shivaji and Mount Malcolm etc.Mahabaleshwar temple of lord Shiva is one and must see religious place here.Lots of outdoor activities like boating, fishing, riding and trekking are also available and big attraction among travellers. Wandering and walking in huge farms of strawberries and mulberries is unforgettable experience.
