About Mnali

Manali is abeautiful hill station and one of the popular destinations located in district Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and dense forests, this place is full of fun activities and sightseeing. Peaceful and quite surroundings with fresh air will mesmerise you when you take breath deep between its forests. Even the way from Shimla to Manali is really like magical experience which you will never forget. Huge mountains one side and Beas River another side makes this area like dream land.Except watching scenic views, swirling water streams and strange falls you can be part of lots of activities during winters like ice skating, skiing. Other water sports are also available during summers and rains.This place is also important due to Indian Mythology. It is believed that Manu recreated life on earth here when whole world drown in flood. This place is also used to be the home of some great sages in Hindu Mythology. Even the name of the place Manali is after the name of Manu.

Getting There

Manali is 280 km away from the capital of Himachal Pradesh Shimla. This is very popular and known tourist destination of North India so getting Manali is not as difficult. Bhuntar is the nearest airport which is almost 50 km away from Manali if you wish to come here by air. Bhunter is connected to Delhi which is International airport and well connected to every major part of India and other countries as well and 565 km away. From Bhunter you have to take taxi to Manali. The charge of taxi will be near 1000 INR.Services and roads are good. If you are coming by train then you will get nearest station is Joginder nagar railway Station which is almost 95 km away from Manali. This narrow gauge railway line is connected to many railway stations via Chandigarh. Here you will have to hire cabs or buses. Buses will go to Kullu first then you will have to catch buses for Manali. Bus services from Kullu to Manali are regular and excellent. Roads are very good and full of natural beauty as you will not get bore during this travelling. You also can take trains to Chandigarh, Pathankot, Kalka and Ambala where you can get taxi or buses to Manali. Coming by road is also a good idea as roads are in pretty good condition. Visit and Do

Summers and winters are both good to come here depends on your mood. Summers have cool weather here and maximum temperature will be 22oc. Winters are good if you want to see snow. Temperature will be -1 to 10oc. basically this place is crowded during summers. You also can come in monsoon as Manali’s full natural beauty can be seen this time only. Heavy water falls are main attraction during this time. The only problem is occasional landslide which can spoil your trip.

Manali is one of the most popular hill stations so accommodation star hotels and resorts try for Holiday Inn, Solang valley resort and tariff would be upto 8000 Rs. Club Mahindra is also great option for the price more than 5000. For deluxe hotels opt for apple country, Manali resorts, Glacier resort, Leela huts etc. and tariff would 3000 to 4500 INR. Maximum hotels are available on the tariff 2000 to 3000 INR and some are Broadways Inn, Manali heights, Hayat regency, snow valley resorts. Budget hotels are available on 1000 to 2000 Rs. You can get cheaper options less than 1000 Rs on mall road itself. Lodge and guest house are also available 450 to 1000 Rs.

Food

Hotels and restaurants of Manali generally serve every kind of food what tourists demand. Form Indian to Continental everything is available here. If you want to you can eat in your own hotel but eating on mall restaurants are better and cheap option either. You can get All Indian food like North Indian, Punjabi food, South Indian, Bengali food and Guajarati. Other options are Chinese and Italian as lots of food joints provide noodles, soups and Pizzas etc.Go for Tibetan food momos. Lots of cafes and bars are also available here on mall road. Street foods like Samosa, Chaat and PaniPuri are also cheap and mouth-watering options.Some names of good restaurants are Sher-e-Punjab for Punjabi food,Raj Rasoi for Chinese, north and south Indian, Guajarati, Lazy dog for multi cuisine food with music and liquor, Satyam and cosy restaurants for all kind of Indianfood etc.
